辭職小札記
準備念研究所的過程,又和準備考研究所的過程迥然不同。考試,只需要唸書。但是準備進入研究所就讀。這似乎是一個小小的空窗和間隔。有些人在這裡面填滿了書籍,有些人在裡面填滿了頹廢。而我就用許多的計畫來填補這些。
準備去印度,不僅是暫時離開臺灣,甚至是有點暫時離開現實。因為時間與空間無法追上科技物的速度,我對於台灣的一切就會停留在出國的那一天。然後,返抵國門兩天後,我就會有碩士班的學生證了。
來回顧一下手上一份涼到爆炸將近作了一年的工作。講難聽一點是櫃臺小姐,講好聽一點是跟班老師。主要的工作就是收學費,然後應付家長來的電話攻擊。你必須讓家長覺得補習班作得好,然後打電話來詢問的家長則要詳細得介紹課程,吸引他們來上。之後我真的發現自己口才不錯,還是因為王老師稱讚。我也覺得很奇怪,感覺自己真的就在那邊蹺腳看書偷睡覺加上玩電腦。最後仔細一想,我這個人是真的還蠻會講話的。高中時代,曾經被阿業大大讚賞過。他說,不知道為什麼話從你嘴巴出來感覺就是很容易讓人相信。或許,未來走投無路。可能直銷這種需要靠嘴巴的行業,我或許很適合。可是,我好像也不是很愛直銷這種玩意。

20080802讀書會
這已經是倒數第二次讀書會了。我整個很開心,一直想逃避這些東西。可能是有點累了。
如同學長說的,你如果無法把這個作品連結到你的興趣,真的是越念越沒力。我問身旁朋友說,念這些理論感覺未來作研究都很難會觸碰到,或者是使用到。那該用怎樣的心態去閱讀呢?我朋友說,閱讀理論應該是給予我們啟發。或者,我應該要另外的角度來閱讀會比較恰當。也就是說,我以方法論的角度去了解這個研究是如何作出來的。這整個讓我恢復精神,因為我真的有點厭倦理論的高深難懂。

異能者的微笑
星期天等公車的時候,遠遠看著一位過馬路的女生。他拿著視障者所使用的柺杖,非常靈活得跨越了馬路中間的安全島。然後非常熟練得走向我,因為我正站在公車站旁邊。他站定位,便用很不自然的姿勢扭著頭問,請問有人在我旁邊可以帶我搭公車嗎?星期天的早晨,公車站是很冷清的。我馬上靠過去問他,你想要搭幾號車呢?他回說:644、648或252都可以。謝謝。他的謝謝,說得好大聲。他的微笑,也好燦爛。
這位女生,看上去應該有二十多歲。他穿得非常整齊的襯衫,搭上粉藍色的小外套,穿著有點過時的額黃色百褶裙。
他俐落的短髮好像有染微微的暗紅色,耳環是民俗風的流蘇貌,鑲著藍色的水鑽。腳上是白色的低跟涼鞋。我並不特別趕時間,加上他的車都可以抵達公館。於是,我陪他等到648一起上了車。我牽著他,他直說謝謝。聲音很洪亮,微笑很開朗。上車之後,他就緊緊得抓著司機後方的欄杆,我能感覺到他不斷得用耳朵聽。可是,那台車的播放壞掉了,所以沒有報站名。我從他要搭的車子推測出他大概是我之後下車。於是,我一直靜靜看著他。我感覺到他的緊張,他不斷拿出衛生紙擦拭他的白色涼鞋。他是我少數遇到的最美的異能者。社會上有太多類似的人,他們總是穿著難看的運動衫,打扮並不是他們的權力。有人願意照顧他們,這好像就是最大的恩典。但是我也想到,很多這類的人多是出生在社會經濟弱勢的族群。不然,只要是個中產階級的家庭,即便他的孩子並不完整。但是相信他們也會盡量把孩子打扮得體面一些。

小時候的味道
這幾天又拿了颱風天當藉口,讓自己輕鬆度日子。星期六陪媽媽到菜市場繞了一圈買東西,我很喜歡去逛菜市場。看很多生鮮蔬果,代宰的雞、豬的內臟、羅列整齊的死魚群。另外一邊,則是香噴噴的熱食區。魯味、港式點心到下酒小菜,很喜歡這邊的市場。晚上我到底幹嘛權都忘記了,應該就是打打電動。然後一直猶豫星期天要不要去讀書會。突然就是很不想去,雖然涂爾幹的書很有趣,某種程度上我卻覺得他並不會和我的未來發生直接的關係。所以我就這樣非常隨性得放縱了星期天。
星期天冒著小風雨,我到北市圖找了2007 US NEWS的學校排名。當然開始熟悉對學校的瞭解外,我想我比較在意的是究竟拖福和GRE應該要到多少才算是門檻度過。當然,有人直接說考越高越好。只是總覺得自己有個目標在還是比較不容易懶散。中午便回到山上去吃飯,和將近半年沒見的表姊吃飯聊天。話題裡多環繞在剛生下龍鳳胎的二表姊,他當然沒有出息。在傳統的二表姊夫家裡,小孩子未滿三個月是不准出門的。而我的三表姊也只是淡淡得說,他自己知道是龍鳳胎他自己就要有心理準備阿。加上還有一個一歲多的妹妹,我難以想像二表姊的生活。只是一般人真的很容易歸咎在女性要負責的身上,卻很難去思考男方家庭給予的壓力,還有男方家庭知道龍鳳胎的喜悅。二表姊曾經淡淡得跟我媽表示,他只希望趕快出去工作。
在山上圍著一個圓桌子吃飯,午餐是阿媽現做的麵疙瘩,加上滿桌子的香腸、脆皮豬肉。小時後的星期天,我很常在這樣的飯菜歡愉中度過。沒有什麼特別的事情,就是在電視前面聊天。大不了吃完飯就會被大人趕去睡覺,而現在需要被哄睡覺的則是大表姊一歲多的女兒。回到家,疲憊得爬上床。睡午覺到天黑。起床吃個飯,看個電視。瞭解颱風情形。打通電話給學姐聊天。這又是一天。

I HAVE A DREAM
最近看了很多關於要準備托福和GRE的資料,雖然還是沒有搞太懂。不過我想GRE我很可能得花錢去補習˙了,托福就自己念。倒是看到了一個方法,就是背文章。我反而很喜歡,我忘記我什麼時候開始喜歡背英文文章的。或許是覺得背文章感覺很厲害之外,我之前真的也曾經因為背英文文章的關係而覺得非常有收穫。背文章當然要背好的文章,有人推薦從名人演講開始,也有人說可以從基本的散文開始。當還沒有找到那些書的時候,我就下載好了金恩博士的I HAVE A DREAM。我很希望自己可以把它背起來,這麼多年來我對於高中英文課文唯一記得的就是這一篇,就是他說I HAVE A DREAM THAT ONE DAY...LITTLE BLACK BOYS AND BLACK GIRLS WILL BE ABLE TO JOINED HANDS WITH LITTLE WHITE BOYS AND WHITE GIERLS AS SISTERS AND BROTHERS.
不曉得是婐自己崇組記憶,還是當時想像這個畫面實在太過深刻。對於這一小段話,我就是記得黑人小孩和白人小孩背對著我走向夕陽的景象。也就是這個景象,讓我對於這篇講演稿深感著迷,也深深感動。那場黑人運動,至今應該還是持續進行的。種族之間的壓迫等問題,那並非一下子可以解決的。或許,這個感動不僅僅出自於以上。更深層的一面試,MARTIN LUTHER KING' 自己的個人願望著眼於大眾和平之上,追求種族上的相互尊重。
的確,人是群體性的動物。在眾人之間,大家總是贊揚著抱持著集體主義的人們。她們要為大眾謀福利,這同時也出現了私情和大愛之間的拉扯。媽媽告訴我,人是群體的動物還是希望有人陪。址是陪伴的層次上,似乎又無法從大愛之間取得滿足。或者是這仍舊可以從中滿足,可是缺乏了一段綿密的私情似乎又有點可惜。重要的應該在,人自己到底去解讀自我在兩者之間的定位。例如,德雷莎修女一輩子為他人奉獻,為上帝奉獻。我想他的心靈上是有所滿足的。我想最可悲的人們,莫過於在私情與大愛之間拉扯,難以取得一個平衡。的確,人事之間的事情我們太難預料、也太難掌控。惟一能做的,就是抓住自己的平衡點吧!

尚未註冊,心繫畢業
這種焦慮或許是其他研究所沒有的。因為社會所的過度自由,反倒讓學生們更需學習自主性。或者,讓學生去找尋另一種限制的可能。現在的我們,連註冊手續都尚未完成,晚上卻在討論誰已經跟定哪位教授。準時兩年畢業的事情。
選擇了老蘇,兩年保證你畢業。同時,也保證你兩年操到累死。但是,這是種代價吧!或許,社會學對於真理或者是自我嚴苛的程度相較於其他學科更甚,反而有更多工得做。不過,某種程度我也是很贊同老蘇的話。蹲在書堆裡面太久,反而會沒有勇氣作田野。搞到最後,可能連研究也做不成了。質化研究的我們,或多或少需要有這樣的自覺和焦慮。所以,我反而會贊成欄同學的走法。從研究方法下手,他是將理論與實務串連在一起的重要工具。

老人攜手的背影
不知道為什麼最近很常看到老公公老婆婆牽手走在路上?剛開始看起來覺得很溫馨,之後開始覺得這或許成為老人們追求流行的可能。看著兩個人牽著手一起走,一個人還拄著柺杖。或許,兩個人牽著走,走起路來會比較穩。即便摔倒,也是兩個人倒在一塊。
看著老人的白髮蒼蒼,我突然想到之前看過的報導。報導裡在比較結婚與單身的人的壽命。可想而知,單身的人壽命比結婚的人的壽命比較短。所以,用這樣的論述來說還是結婚好了。當時看到這篇報導,我是沒有太多的想法。只是覺得有點奇怪。剛剛思考了一下,我覺得論述很有問題。因為的確在某種客觀條件下,是會呈現相同結果。但是她們應該要找的是事情發生的原因吧?!我覺得結婚的人之所以比較長壽有幾點原因。第一,她們順應社會主流價值觀。所以相對來說,她們承受的社會壓力比起單身要小很多。再來,多半順應社會主流價值結婚的人,養育兒女也是個重要的點。所以她們的晚年有人照顧。單身的話,晚年沒有人(或者應該說道德上的責任)可以照顧與情感支持,因此壽命短也是可預期的結果。
但是我覺得重點是,單身的人的壽命長短或多或少也可以反映出國家對於老人的照顧體制好不好。因為單身比起結婚的人更需要政府的老人政策的照顧。越想越氣勒,哈哈。

祈禱蟲蟲哥口試順利
這幾天報告寫完很輕鬆,可是昨天晚上又開始很焦慮。拿狼牙棒一直敲虫虫哥,我有點擔心他的口試。加上有人說不用陪,同時公司要來我上班。於是,虫虫哥要一個人口試了。算算時間,差不多快要到他了。中午吃賣當勞,我很緊張得看著窗外,想到他要口試就很緊張。我很習慣為人家擔心,而且是很擔心的那種。
從認識他到在一起到現在,他的目標就鎖定在論文上。同時,從他寫論文的過程和態度,的確他很認真而且在某些點上是會要求完美。連昨天要剪個小紙條,還在那裡求個老半天。他真的也在緊張吧XD
相信他口試可以順利!晚上一起去吃傳說中的咖啡弄!

什麼是遺憾?
前幾天跟學姊聊天,他告訴我少年輕狂,要多去做些有趣的事情。說實在,我想我大學唯一的遺憾就是沒有參予太多的活動,我指的並非是社團的活動,而可能是外面機構辦的活動。除了好好請教騙吃騙喝的學姊,一些片吃騙喝的伎倆外。我也在想,自己總是很關注在私領域的活動上,但是我卻應該想的是私領域的困境必須要從公領域中的政策等等才可能去解決一些問題。我老是再逃避一些東西,只希望自己不要有什麼遺憾才好。

很久沒用看到小狸貓老師,有點親切卻又不是那樣的害怕。他到學弟妹的班上去講話,那些過去告訴我們的話,幾乎我都可以背起來了。可是,赫然發現我自己念書的大問題。先記錄一下他的步驟:

未來,一直來。
大學的最後一份報告終於告一個段落了。非常有趣的,這同時也是我研究所的第一份報告。比較開始習慣念英文,雖然某種程度我還是在懼怕和逃避。但是仍舊開始了這些,我或許也會比較安穩一點。
當報告寫好的這幾天,未來就這麼一股腦得衝進我的思緒當中。如同學姐所說的,多作些準備少吃點虧。既然決定想出國唸書那現在就可以開始準備了。雖然有人就斬釘截鐵得告訴我說,留在國內念碩士就是個浪費時間。而我既然作了決定,現在也不該是懊悔的時候。或許,想辦法彌補或增強自己的能力可能才是比較實際的作法。英文的部分不可再擺爛了,這是最重要的事情。早點規劃買書等等,這對於我之後準備起來也會比較愉快一些。
今年,可能就是人生中最後一個暑假了。很多人告訴我,年少輕狂要多作些瘋狂事。但是我反而自己覺得該做的,都作了。是該好好規劃未來的時候了。而現在做的每件事情都環繞著未來的某個點。這次的報告裡,讀到一位學姐的博士論文初稿。他打算將母職納入政策當中討論,我個人非常支持這樣的論點。學社會學的,某種程度上都有點理想化及社會主義的傾向。畢竟社會學總認為不該責難個人,許多問題我們會歸諸於社會集體的部分。因而,某種程度上我也必須去參與相關社會政策的部分,因為想要改變社會集體,政策反而更加重要。
